But here is an interesting fact, Vijay's 'Sachein' director John Mahendran recently revealed that Ajith once also wished to remake Rajinikanth's 'Johnny'.
John Mahendran is the son of late legendary filmmaker J Mahendran, and he is famous for his directorial 'Sachein' starring Vijay. John Mahendran revealed about Ajith's old discussion with his father in his recent interview. Ajith had met John’s father and stated his wish to remake Rajinikanth's dual avatar in 'Johnny' since he was the one who directed the original version. J Mahendran had also felt that Ajith would be a perfect cast for the remake, and had even thought of producing the film. But the film didn't proceed further as J Mahendran then got disinterested in doing the remake as he believed that classic hits should not be touched again.
So we may hope that there is a chance of seeing Ajith in a remake of Rajinikanth's film if he wishes to process the film. However, Ajith will be seen in the cop drama 'Valimai' soon, which is being directed by H Vinoth, and the film is set to resume shooting once the film shooting starts.
