Will the controversial 'Kutra Parambarai' take off? Sasikumar answers and reveals his lineup
At the annual event of a private college in Madurai, Sasikumar participated as a special guest. Addressing the students, he humorously remarked, "Usually, when invited to colleges, one is expected to give intellectual speeches. Since that's not my habit, I rarely attend such events. They didn't just invite me; they dragged me here through a friend of a friend. When a friend asks, we'd even give our life, so I came. Study well, and like in my films, never let go of friendships." He emphasized the need for films that provoke thought rather than just entertain, referencing his film 'Ayothi', which highlighted humanity beyond religion and caste. Sharing a personal experience, he mentioned how his boarding school taught him to live without such divisions, and those childhood friends remain close even now.
When asked about his next directorial project, he said, "It will begin this year, and the shooting will happen in Madurai." On 'Kutra Parambarai', he clarified, "The decision lies with the producer. Bharathiraja and Bala initially had differences about it but later reconciled. They both wanted me to act, but due to another reason, it was stalled." In response to a question about retaining the same hairstyle since 'Subramaniapuram', he revealed, "I'm planning another film like 'Subramaniapuram', and this hairstyle is for that." Regarding collaborating with Anurag Kashyap, Sasikumar shared, "He was supposed to act in 'Kutra Parambarai' and agreed without even hearing the story. He will be part of my next film." When asked about love and friendship, he concluded, "Friendship often turns into love, but love never becomes friendship."
Sasikumar last delivered 'Nandhan' and the social drama helmed by Era Saravanan was a superhit, and is now available for streaming on a popular digital platform.
