Yuvan Shankar Raja: AI will leave music composers jobless in 10 years

Music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja in a recent press meet held in relation to his upcoming concert spoke about the advanced AI technology in music. The music composer spoke about the trend of remaking old songs and added that it is just another version of the original track and said that he does not believe in compromising the originality of the song.
He stressed that the copyrights might be an issue on the remakes, but it might not pose a challenge if secured prior permission. He then noted that AI has taken over the musical industry already and mentioned that in 10 years it will potentially leave music composers jobless.
Yuvan Shankar Raja also stated that the authenticity will be lost in the music industry if AI completely takes over the music industry. In recent times, many composers including Yuvan Shankar Raja, AR Rahman, Anirudh Ravichander have used AI to bring back the voices of late singers like Malaysia Vasudevan, Bhavatharini Ilaiyaraaja.
