Actor Suman about SP Balasubrahmanyam: His voice was that of god

After the demise of legendary singer SP Subrahmanyam, celebs from film industries across India reminisced of the special bond they shared with him and his contributions to Indian cinema.
Actor Suman was also one among them to share about the history they shared with the late singer. Balu was not just a singer, but also a voice actor who had lent his vocals to many star celebs like Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth.So, Suman reminisced of the time Balu dubbed for his role in Annamayya.
He said, “Balasubrahmanyam had such a gifted voice. I played the role of Lord Venkateshwara Swamy in Annamayya and Balu was the one who dubbed for me. What needs to be kept in mind is that throughout the film, I appear in different forms and he had to modulate for each appearance in a different manner. The way he managed to do that is just phenomenal.” He added, “It was a unique skill of his to match his voice to the person and make one believe they’re not even hearing a dubbed voice. After that, when I played the lord Rama in Sri Ramadasu, he again dubbed for me. Whenever I played the role of a God, he has always lent his voice. His demise is a massive loss for the whole country. We have lost a gem of a person. There are films which have become a hit just due to his voice. Everyone loves him. We miss you Balu, my sincere condolences to his family.”
On Friday afternoon at 1:04 PM SP Balasubrahmanyam breathed his last at a private hospital in Chennai. He had tested positive for Covid-19 on August 5 and while he recovered from the virus on September 5, his health continued to deteriorate. He had a cardio-respiratory arrest on Friday, leading to his passing.
