About the film
Directed by Singeetam Srinivasa Rao, Aditya 369 is celebrated as India’s first science fiction film. The story revolves around a time machine invented by Professor Ramdas, leading to thrilling adventures across historical and futuristic timelines. Balakrishna’s dual role as Krishna Kumar and Emperor Krishnadevaraya remains one of his most memorable performances, showcasing his unmatched energy and commanding screen presence. The film also features Mohini, Amrish Puri, Tinnu Anand, and Silk Smitha in pivotal roles.
According to a Cinejosh report, Balakrishna, during the re-release event of the film, said, "For my portrayal of Sri Krishnadevaraya in 'Aditya 369,' my father was my inspiration. When Singeetam Garu, Krishna Prasad Garu, and Balasubrahmanyam Garu approached me with this unique concept, I immediately agreed. I encouraged them, believing it would turn out to be a great film. The variation in the two characters that I played was only possible when you truly immerse yourself in the soul of each character."
