So, we would say, Bond cinema kadu boss, Goodachari cinema,” says Adivi Sesh in an exclusive chat with Hyderabad Times, revealing unknown facts about the making of the film:
#1 Gudachari 116 was asked to make an appearance

Krishna starred in a film called Gudachari 116 in 1966 which told the story of Agent 116 aka Gopi, who sets out on a mission to uncover the truth behind his colleague’s murder. While Adivi Sesh took Krishna’s blessings for Goodachari and wanted him to make an appearance in the film, he turned down the offer because he wasn’t acting anymore. He also gave them permission to use any of the clips and music from the film. Naming Adivi Sesh’s character Gopi and giving him Agent number 116 was the team’s way of paying tribute to the original Gudachari.
#2 Mahesh Babu’s Spyder gave Adivi Sesh a mini heart attack

When Spyder was announced, starring original Gudachari Krishna’s son Mahesh Babu, the team of Goodachari was worried as the first song that released also had the words Gudachari in them. By then Garuda Vega was also releasing but Adivi Sesh was confident about the origin tale he had in hand. However, when Spyder turned out to be a completely different film, which had nothing to do with the story they had at hand, they breathed a sigh of relief.

#3 When Agent 116 had to save the day

When they were shooting the scene where Prakash Raj and Jagapathi Babu’s characters fire at each other on a rope bridge in Himachal Pradesh (Sikkim in the film), they kept pausing shoot because they had to allow locals to pass by. In the middle of shoot, one man came running towards them, paused and almost jumped off the bridge. But Adivi Sesh and the team saved him just in the nick of time. It’s only later they found out that the man thought they were firing real guns and wanted to take his chances by jumping into the rapids.
#4 The entrance to Trinetra is inspired by From Russia With Love

When Goodachari released, some viewers had drawn similarities to the spy film Kingsman, especially the scene where the entrance to Trinetra agency is place under a clothing showroom. However, Adivi Sesh reveals that the scene is, in fact, inspired from the 1963 Bond film From Russia With Love as he wanted to pay it homage and had grown up watching classic spy films. He only watched Kingsman after many pointed out the similarity. Adivi Sesh says he’s planning on putting in a self-referential joke about this in Goodachari 2.
#5 How Jagapathi Babu became the film’s best-kept secret

Jagapathi Babu’s character in the film as Gopi’s long-lost father, a rogue agent, had to be kept under wraps for the big reveal during the interval to work. The team was awkward about breaking the news to him that he would not be seen in a single poster, trailer or any promotional material of the film, nor would he be invited to any events. However once Adivi Sesh spoke to him about it, he was shocked that Jagapathi Babu completely agreed to the idea and understood why the film needed this. Adivi Sesh also reveals that the kind of response this reveal got from the audience made it feel worth it.
