Tamannaah Bhatia's supernatural thriller 'Odela 2', directed by Ashok Teja and penned by
Sampath Nandi, the sequel to the 2022 crime thriller Odela Railway Station, after receiving mixed reviews at the box office is set to make its digital debut soon.
According to a report by The Free Press Journal, the film will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video from May 17, 2025, just a month after its theatrical release on April 17.
In 'Odela 2', Tamannaah takes on the challenging role of Bhairavi, a powerful Naga Sadhu and devotee of Lord Shiva, who confronts dark supernatural forces threatening her village.
The story is set in the fictional village of Odela in Telangana, where the malevolent spirit of a serial rapist, Tirupati, continues to terrorize the community even after his death. Following a ritual gone wrong, Tirupati’s soul transforms into a vengeful spirit, possessing men and resuming his horrific crimes. Bhairavi, who has spent years in ascetic devotion chanting "Om Namah Shivaya," returns to protect her village from this evil.
The film also features Hebah Patel reprising her role from the first installment, alongside a strong supporting cast. While the original 'Odela Railway Station' was praised for its realistic portrayal of crime and suspenseful storytelling, 'Odela 2' has supernatural horror with mythology, which included something new to the franchise.
Despite mixed critical reception, the film has piqued audience interest, especially with Tamannaah’s portrayal of a fierce and spiritual protagonist. Fans of the actress, known for her work across Bollywood and South Indian cinema, are eager to see her in this intense role.
Tamannaah was recently seen in hit songs like 'Aaj Ki Raat' from 'Stree 2' and 'Nasha' from 'Raid 2'.
