Jr NTR opens up about 'Devara 2': "The first part is only half of a bigger story"

Jr NTR had been actively promoting his 2024 blockbuster flick, 'Devara: Part 1' in Japan alongside director Koratala Siva. Following the film's premiere, both Jr NTR and Koratala Siva engaged with Japanese media, discussing the film and its future.
According to a 123Telugu report, during the interaction, Jr NTR shared his enthusiasm for the sequel, 'Devara 2'. He shared that the first part is only half of a larger story, suggesting that the next chapter will be even more incredible. Jr NTR teased that while audiences learned a lot about Devara in the first part, the sequel will reveal more about Vara and what happens to Devara.
The report also suggested that the script for 'Devara 2' is nearing completion, with production set to begin in the first half of 2026. Anirudh Ravichander will return as the film's composer, bringing his signature style to the sequel. Janhvi Kapoor will also reprise her role as Jr NTR's love interest.

The story of the film is set in the fictional coastal region of Erra Samudram, revolving around Devara (Jr NTR), a brave leader who battles smuggling operations and internal betrayals to protect his people. Saif Ali Khan plays Bhaira, the antagonist, while Janhvi Kapoor portrays Thangam. Both the Bollywood actors mark their Tollywood debut with this film.
The movie is being praised for its hard hitting background music and stunning visuals and especially the ocean sequences which have been shot meticulously.

In a promotional video released in 2024, Jr NTR while speaking with Alia Bhatt and Karan Johar mentioned that the initial plan of the team was to make the movie a standalone film. However, as the story developed more characters and storylines came up with it. They had to divide the film into two parts as even before finishing the first half of the shoot there movie's runtime was around five hours.
