The Akkineni family, including veteran actor Nagarjuna, his son Naga Chaitanya, and daughter-in-law Sobhita Dhulipala, had a special meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Parliament House on February 7, 2025. Recently, 'The Night Manager' actress shared her excitement about the meeting on Instagram.
The prominent Telugu film industry family presented the Prime Minister with "Akkineni Ka Virat Vyaktitva," a book honoring the life and legacy of the legendary actor and filmmaker Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR). ANR, Nagarjuna's father, is a towering figure in Telugu cinema, and the book celebrates his immense contributions to the industry.

She wrote, "Profoundly thankful to Hon’ble Prime Minister @narendramodi ji for today’s meeting at Parliament House. It was an honor to present ‘Akkineni Ka Virat Vyaktitva’ by Padma Bhushan awardee Dr. Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad, a tribute to ANR garu’s cinematic heritage. Your recognition of his life’s work is a treasured affirmation for our family, fans, and Indian movie lovers.
Sobitha and Naga Chaitanya presented Prime Minister Modi with a Kondapalli bommalu, a traditional Andhra Pradesh wooden doll. Sobhita explained that she has a deep connection to these dolls, as they remind her of her childhood in her grandparents' home in Tenali. She was happy to share this piece of her heritage with the prime minister and that he knew about the handicraft.
In the caption she mentioned, "PS: Anyone who knows me knows how much I adore kondapalli bommalu (dancing dolls); their memories trace back to my childhood years in my grandparents’ home in Tenali. So happy to be able to gift him one and to find that he knows all about this old handicraft and its nativity to Andhra Pradesh. :)"
The Akkineni family's visit to Parliament House was a blend of honoring the past and celebrating the present. Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya both looked elegant in dark bandhgala suits, while Sobhita Dhulipala was radiant in a cream and gold saree, and Amala Akkineni added grace in a pink saree.

The meeting comes at a busy time for the Akkineni family. Naga Chaitanya's latest film, 'Thandel,' co-starring Sai Pallavi, was released the same day. The film has garnered mixed reviews, but his performance has been appreciated. Sobhita Dhulipala was recently seen in 'Monkey Man.'.
On the other hand, Nagarjuna is currently working on 'Kubera' with Dhanush and Rashmika Mandanna, as well as Lokesh Kanagaraj's 'Coolie' starring Rajinikanth.
