Veteran Telugu filmmaker Siva Nageswara Rao recalls his association with Oscar-winning lyric writer Chandrabose - Exclusive

Lyricist Chandrabose took time out of his busy schedule and met a former friend and director Siva Nageswara Rao with his Oscar trophy today in Hyderabad at his house.
The talented director Siva Nageswara Rao who was one of the earlier associates of Ram Gopal Varma speaks exclusively to ETimes and shared his meeting with Chandrabose. He shared, "Chandrabose after returning to Hyderabad with his Oscar Award met director Muppalaneni Siva who gave him the first chance to write his song and then Rama Naidu’s son, producer Suresh Babu, then his first music composer MM. Srilekha, finally came to my home today at 10:30 am."
"Chandrabose got very emotional seeing us. He was holding his award in one hand and was hugging on the other, despite me and my wife were greeting him, he got so emotional. My wife who never has given a shaking hand to anyone in her life has given a shaking hand to him and we all sat for breakfast."
An overwhelmed Chandrabose also showed the Oscar trophy to us and got emotional. "Chandrabose recalled his hard olden days and reminded me of an incident when once I took him to the Titan watch showroom and bought him a watch worth Rs 3000/- and also said him that he should not only tell me the time every day but also assured that It should change your time forever satirically, which has really come true to today," recalls the filmmaker as he walks down the memory lane.

"I didn’t remember all those things. So, it is his greatness that he still remembers all those incidents which I have no clue about. He also remembers the time when I had toured him in my blue car to Koti, Hyderabad then," he added.
To make the meet funny, iva Nageswara Rao took the Oscar award and kept it between the Two State Nandi Awards trophies of his for some time to see if any vibrations will pass to his Nandi’s too. "I'm so happy for Chandrabose, that the guy whom we saw as nobody and worked with him in his initial days has grown up to be a man that Oscar recognized. All seems to happen just last week in front of our eyes," the filmmaker concluded the conversation.
