The pre-release business of the film too stands at the tune of Rs 30.50 Cr worldwide, according to sources. The film went on-floors last year and is ready for release now.
Nothing much is known about the story of ‘World Famous Lover’ because it has been kept carefully under wraps. But the character posters of the film indicates that it tells four love stories, based on two characters Gautam and Seenayya, both played by Vijay Deverakonda. Seenayya seems to be a lower-income worker whose job is in the mines while Gautam seems to be an urban student with issues of his own.
Judging by the posters, Raashi Khanna plays Yamini, Gautam’s college interest and someone he can’t get over nor commit to. Aishwarya Rajesh plays Seenayya’s wife Suvarna, someone who craves for love and companionship but doesn’t get it in return. Catherine Tresa plays Seenayya’s boss Smitha, the fantasy he seems to be obsessed with while Izabelle Leite plays a French pilot who has a fling with Gautam in Paris. The story seems to be about how all these four world interject and why.
Talking about the film, Vijay Deverakonda had said in a recent interview, “One of them is a love story set in a small town between a husband and his wife. I was excited to play this part and it was challenging because I’ve never done it before. Another is a love story between a happy-go-lucky guy and a pilot in Paris. The third one is like a college love story. All three will be related in a way you won’t expect.” He also stated that he took inspiration for the look and body language of Seenayya from the way his father is at home, wearing a lungi.
There was a time when ‘World Famous Lover’ was meant to be named ‘Priyam’ or ‘Mumbai Teeram’ stated the actor. “But I feel like this is an apt name for the film,” he added.
