DeepSeek vs ChatGPT: The best memes and jokes that are ruling the internet now
The world is gushing about DeepSeek, a Chinese-made artificial intelligence (AI) model, which has impressed AI experts, and led to US President Donald Trump calling it a 'wake-up call' for US companies.
In just a week, DeepSeek has become the most downloaded free app in the US, and this has undoubtedly caused turbulence amongst its expensive US rivals including Open AI's ChatGPT and Google's Gemini.
Javier Aguirre, an AI researcher at Samsung Medical Center that he is ‘quite impressed’ with Deepseek.
“While coding, we usually try to explode AI chatbots to the limit to see their capabilities in assisting with coding. Today I had a really tricky and complex problem. Even chatGPT o1 was not able to reason enough to solve it. I gave a try to Deepseek and it solved it at once and straight to the point,” Aguirre said.
Elaborating further, the researcher noted:
  • Deepseek reasoning is way longer than chatGPT for complex scenarios (which may be inconvenient).
  • Deepseek goes straight to the point and gives you the specific part of the snippet while chatGPT (specially reasoning models such as o1 or o1-mini) usually gives you an overextended answer.
  • Deepseek reasoning abilities as far as I tested are quite robust.
  • Using multiple AIs to assist may be key for complex reasoning abilities. Using one AI when the other failed since their reasoning and architecture patterns differ.
  • Regarding engineering, combining AI systems may be very key for agentic patterns.
  • Eventually, chances are high that all models will converge at a similar point and be able to solve the same tasks. However, behaviors may still differ due to training data and reasoning patterns.
The internet cannot stop talking about DeepSeek, and it's flooded with memes and jokes, and you certainly shouldn’t miss it.
