This Indian petrol pump’s unexpected way to tackle the 'no-helmet rule' is a lifetime lesson to learn

A popular content creator from Jharkhand documents how petrol pumps ensure the enforcement of the "no helmet, no fuel" rule by lending helmets to riders at gas stations. This creative solution ensures compliance with helmet regulations while providing riders with an immediate way to refuel.

The "no helmet, no fuel" policy, implemented in many cities and states, was a creative approach to encourage two-wheeler riders to wear helmets for their own safety and reduce accident-related injuries. While the intention behind the law is commendable, India often proves to be a unique country when it comes to implementing such rules or even making them follow it. One example that proves the previous statement, comes from Jharkhand where a content creator posted about how Indians are following the “no helmet, no policy”, without following it.

As the video begins, the man explains, “Toh aise hi nahi bolte India is not for beginners. Humare sheher mein helmet compulsory kar diya gaya hai, bina helmet aap kahi ghum nahi sakte, na aapko petrol diya jayega. (This is how it goes, India is not for beginners. In our city, wearing a helmet has become compulsory, and without one, you cannot roam around or even get fuel.)”

While the man had a helmet, he hid it in his scooter for this experiment. As he approaches the gas station, he is given a helmet which is attached to a string, in case anyone ‘forgot’ to return. The concept ensures that bikers can comply with the rule and still get fuel, even if they don’t own a helmet. This clever workaround has struck a chord with many, leaving people amused by its mix of practicality and law-abiding ingenuity. The creative approach has sparked laughter and admiration as it balances adherence to regulations with everyday challenges.

The camera then pans to a clear display of the man's scooty number plate, which informs that this incident took place in Jharkhand. One user said, “A user wrote, “Petrolpump be like :- Kuch bhi ho hamara nuksaan nhi hona chahiye” Another, One wrote, “If Customer bhagwan saman hota hai" had an example”. The Yogi Adityanath government has directed district officials to enforce the "no helmet, no petrol" rule to help reduce road accident fatalities. Petrol pump operators have also been instructed to deny fuel to bikers not wearing helmets.
