Pahalgam terror attack: India suspends visas for all Pakistani nationals, orders them to leave by April 27

India has suspended all visas for Pakistani citizens. They must leave the country by April 27. Medical visas are valid until April 29. This decision follows the Pahalgam terror attack. PM Narendra Modi vowed to punish those responsible. Indians are advised against traveling to Pakistan. Those in Pakistan should return home soon.

NEW DELHI: The government on Thursday suspended all kinds of visas for Pakistani nationals and asked them to leave the country by April 27. However, the medical visas will be valid for an additional two days and will stand revoked on April 29.
"In continuation of the decisions made by the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS)in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, the Government of India has decided to suspend visa services to Pakistani nationals with immediate effect," the ministry of external affairs said.
The ministry advised the Indian in Pakistan to return at the earliest.
"All Pakistani nationals currently in India must leave India before the expiry of visas, as now amended. Indian nationals are strongly advised to avoid travelling to Pakistan. Those Indian nationals currently in Pakistan are also advised to return to India at the earliest," the statement said.
After PM Modi chaired the CCS meet, the government on Wednesday suspended SAARC visas. for the Pakistani nationals.
"Pakistani nationals will not be permitted to travel to India under the SAARC visa Exemption scheme. Any SPES visas issued in the past to Pakistani nationals are deemed cancelled. Any Pakistani national currently in India under SPES visa has 48 hours to leave India," foreign secretary Vikram Misri said in a press brief.
Earlier, speaking on the Pahalgam terror attack at killed 26 people, mostly tourists, Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued a stern warning to terrorists on Thursday, pledging to "identify, track, and punish" those responsible for the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 28 lives.
Addressing his first public gathering since the attack, PM Modi expressed the nation's grief and assured decisive action against the perpetrators.
"The punishment will be significant and stringent, which these terrorists would have never even thought about," he added.
Further PM Modi said that India's spirit will never be broken by terrorism and every effort will be made to make sure that justice is done.
"Today, on the soil of Bihar, I say to the whole world, India will identify, trace and punish every terrorist and their backers. We will pursue them to the ends of the Earth. India's spirit will never be broken by terrorism," Prime Minister said.
