The 86th Academy Awards saw attendees in gold jewellery — in both classic and innovative designs — on the red carpet. Gold seemed to be the preferred metal at the event as well as at the pre and post event parties. Standout gold earrings and rings sprinkled Oscar gowns with golden glamour.
Angelina Jolie chose gold bezel-set 42 carat round diamond drop earrings while Camilla Alves accented her gown with rose gold and pink diamond earrings and a rose gold and diamond ring.
Lady Gaga accessorised her gown with rose gold 20 carat diamond studs.
Other celebrities spotted wearing gold jewellery included Sally Hawkins, Goldie Hawn, Kristin Chenoweth, Louise Roe, John Legend, Ireland Baldwin, Ryan Seacrest,
Brad Pitt, Kelly Osbourne, Michael B Jordan and
Amy Adams.
Sally Morrison, Managing Director, Marketing and Jewellery, World Gold Council, said, “Gold has proved to be a favourite this season for the fashion-forward celebrity. Stand-out looks include bold cuffs, statement rings and iconic earrings. Leading this trend is Lupita Nyong’o, who made her first Oscar appearance in a gold snake bracelet, a headband, geometric earrings, and four rings (including one of a tiny gold frog, a good luck totem in the Nyong’o family!) LoveGold is a digital destination, which serves to inspire and celebrate all things gold. We seek out the best designs and designers wherever they are. This year, the brand honoured Lupita at a private cocktail event at the Chateau Marmont for her outstanding talent and style.”
While international jewellery brands made quite the statement on the Oscar red carpet, Indian gold jewellery brand Azva was worn by Danielle Brooks, who wore a uniquely designed gold neckpiece for a luncheon. Also seen wearing an intricate gold cuff and beautiful earrings from the brand was international model and presenter Coco Rocha, who paired the jewellery with her stunning gown. The jewellery brand has found fans in international stars like
Sharon Stone and Kesha in the past. The jewellery boasts of exceptional craftsmanship in gold and contemporary designs that are apt for the modern Indian woman. Indian blogger Malini Agarwal, who was a guest of LoveGold at the event, was seen also sporting pieces from Azva’s latest collection for the awards.
