NEW DELHI: Gujarat Titans (GT) captain Shubman Gill achieved a remarkable milestone by becoming the third IPL captain to amass over 500 runs in a season before turning 26, joining the ranks of Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer. This feat came during GT's match against Mumbai Indians (MI) at Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday, where Gill contributed 43 runs from 46 deliveries, including three boundaries and one six in a rain-affected chase of 156 runs.In IPL 2025, Gill has accumulated 508 runs across 11 matches, maintaining an impressive average of 50.80 and a strike rate exceeding 152, including five half-centuries with a top score of 90. Currently aged 25 years and 241 days, he stands as the season's third-highest run-scorer.

Post-interruption, Jasprit Bumrah (2/19) and Trent Boult (2/22) reduced GT to 132/6 by the 18th over when rain returned, leaving GT trailing.

Upon resumption, GT needed 147 runs with one over remaining.
