WWE 2K25, set for release on March 14, 2025, is facing harsh criticism on Steam ahead of its launch. Key issues include the lack of cross-platform community creations, an uncooperative AI, and the exclusion of several popular wrestlers. Fans are also disappointed by the game's slow pace and the inclusion of NBA characters over notable WWE superstars.

After several years of reconstruction, the WWE 2K franchise saw its climax last year with WWE 2K24, one of the greatest professional wrestling games that 2K and developer Visual Concepts had produced in a long time.
However, as most experienced wrestling fans are aware, proving that you are a contender for a championship is one thing, but maintaining that level of excellence is quite another. WWE 2K25 is currently up against that test. And seeing the Steam reviews, it seems the upcoming launch is utterly failing in that.

Why Is WWE 2K25 Getting Review-bombed on Steam?

WWE 2K25 is about to be launched on March 14, 2025. However, fans didn’t wait till the release to unleash their lethal negative reviews on the game on Steam. So, why is the game getting so much hate? There are many reasons for that. The major one has to be the unavailability of any cross platform community creations.
That means PS5 and Xbox Series players won’t be able to download PS4, Xbox One and PC community creations, and vice-versa. Purchasing the PC version effectively ruins the gamers' experience and creativity because it prevents them from downloading works created by the PS5 or Xbox developers. This game's lack of extensive character creation is truly ruining it, and using universe mode isn't enjoyable.
There is another annoying feature. Even on the easiest difficulty, it's a pain to get the AI to cooperate with the specific objectives you need to accomplish in a chaotic Money in the Bank Ladder match. This is because, when you try to set up some of these moments, the AI will simply enter the ring and win the match before you can stop them, so you'll have to start over if you want to get all of the unlockables.
Also, the community is disappointed regarding the potential repetitions in the game. Not only that, the game looks awfully slow as compared to its predecessor. Fans also didn’t like the fact that 2K eventually went on to remove many wrestlers who were actually thought to be in the game. However, the company added a bunch of NBA characters, who according to the fans, doesn’t hold as much value as the missed out WWE superstars.
We hope the dust will be settled down on March 14 when the game will finally be released.
