With Bloober Team's superb remake of Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill made a triumphant return last year. More information about the series' next significant development will soon be available. This Thursday, March 13, at 3 PM PDT, Konami has scheduled a fresh livestream for Silent Hill Transmission, claiming to "uncover Silent Hill f."

A New Era in the Legendary Horror Franchise Begins with Silent Hill f

Fans of Silent Hill have some good news: later this week, publisher Konami will host a livestream devoted to the franchise. Konami teases that this will unveil Silent Hill f and is referred to as "Silent Hill Transmission."

Although it was first revealed in 2022, we haven't seen Silent Hill since. Alongside a number of other Silent Hill projects, including the Silent Hill 2 remake and Silent Hill: Townfall, which is still in development from No Code, a teaser trailer was released at that time. It doesn't appear that any other games will be discussed during the showcase based on Konami's tweet.
The upcoming mainline installment of Konami's adored psychological horror series, Silent Hill F, is not well known. It is being co-developed by Konami and NeoBards Entertainment and was announced in 2022. It will be the first game in the series to take place in a rural Japanese town in the 1960s rather than the titular town of Silent Hill.

What’s Going to Be The Story of Silent Hill f?

A young girl in what looked to be rural Japan was featured in the trailer. She was gradually overcome by flowers as the trailer went on, and then her face began to peel away (shivers and arguments postponing breakfast for a little while yet).

According to that first reveal, Ryukishi07, the creator of the When They Cry visual novel series, will write the story for Silent Hill f, while Kera will design the characters and creatures. Motoi Okamoto, who you may know from Nintendo, is the game's producer. In the meantime, Neobards is in charge of the development aspect.
Although we cannot foresee what Konami will reveal, we can state that the 1960s was a particularly fruitful time for Japanese horror. Japanese horror films, such as Jigoku, Matango, and Blind Beast, were existential sociological character studies that freely incorporated a variety of genres prior to the eerie women of Ring and Ju-On.
Who knows what Konami has in store for us in 2025, considering how Silent Hill 2 itself advanced the horror genre in 2001?
