Manchester City FC are set to establish their first football academy in India through a partnership with the Techno India group in Kolkata. The agreement was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding signed in London, with West Bengal Chief Minister
Mamata Banerjee present at the ceremony.
"I am happy with the development," said Mamata Banerjee, who was in London seeking investments for her state.

Techno India group, the partnering institution, currently manages multiple educational institutions including colleges, universities, and schools throughout West Bengal.
The academy represents Manchester City's first venture into football education in India, marking a significant step in developing young football talent in the region.
