Manchester City to launch football academy in Kolkata, MoU signed with West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee

Manchester City FC are set to establish their first football academy in India, in collaboration with Techno India group. The agreement, finalised in London, anticipates the academy named Man City Football School to nurture talents from West Bengal and across India. The development was announced in the presence of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Manchester City FC are set to establish their first football academy in India through a partnership with the Techno India group in Kolkata. The agreement was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding signed in London, with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee present at the ceremony.
"I am happy with the development," said Mamata Banerjee, who was in London seeking investments for her state.

The academy, which will be called Man City Football School, aims to provide training opportunities for young talents from West Bengal and across India.
Techno India group, the partnering institution, currently manages multiple educational institutions including colleges, universities, and schools throughout West Bengal.
The academy represents Manchester City's first venture into football education in India, marking a significant step in developing young football talent in the region.
