Manchester United have announced a five percent increase in season ticket prices for the 2025/26 season, despite opposition from supporters groups who requested a price freeze.
While tickets for under-16s will remain unchanged, the club is implementing a new game categorisation system for non-season ticket holders, allowing different pricing for high-profile matches.

The club's fan advisory board had requested a price freeze during their meeting with club officials.
This marks the third consecutive five percent increase in season ticket prices at Old Trafford, following an 11-year period of stable prices.
"We understand the importance of their backing for the team and have worked hard to come up with a pricing package that is fair and reasonable," said United chief executive Omar Berrada.
According to recent interviews, co-owner Jim Ratcliffe revealed that the club would have faced financial difficulties without implementing cost-cutting measures and ticket price increases.
The club has accumulated losses of £410 million over seven years due to unsuccessful transfer dealings and managerial appointments.
Currently positioned 13th in the Premier League, Manchester United's only chance for silverware this season depends on winning the Europa League.
"We listened carefully to the strong arguments put forward by the FAB in favour of a freeze. However, the club has decided that it would not be right to keep prices unchanged while costs rise and the club continues to face financial issues," Berrada added. "We have kept the increase to the lowest possible level and protected our youngest season-ticket holders from any rises, while ensuring the club remains financially strong enough to invest in improving the team."
The club plans to convert some general admission seats near the dugouts into premium-priced hospitality seating.
This decision contrasts with Premier League leaders Liverpool, who recently announced a ticket price freeze for next season.
"For several months we have argued long and hard that the club need to look at the big picture and freeze ticket prices for next season," stated the Manchester United Supporters' Trust. "Other clubs have done that already and at United it would have sent a powerful message about the need for everyone to pull together to get the club out of the very difficult position it finds itself in. We do note that the scale of the headline increase is less than many feared and we believe the enormous amounts of dialogue that fans groups have had with the club, alongside the public pressure exerted through the media and various protests, helped restrain the increase."
The club recently revealed plans to relocate from Old Trafford to a new 100,000-seat stadium, estimated to cost £2 billion.
