Mike Rodriguez on Aaron Judge's interest in Sandy Alcantara
On Sunday, MLB insider Mike Rodriguez shared an X post in which he detailed Aaron Judge's interest in pursuing Sandy Alcantara. The Yankees' captain's decision to pursue more pitchers, including Alcantara, came after Gerrit Cole informed about his elbow injury's severe condition. Sharing details into his take, Rodriguez said:
"According to my sources, Brian Cashman might consider pursuing Erick Fedde, Dylan Cease, and Sandy Alcántara. Additionally, he could explore the possibility of reuniting with Sonny Gray or Michael King; however, Aaron Judge has expressed a strong interest in Sandy Alcántara."As for Aaron Judge, the captain also came clean about his reaction to Gerrit Cole's injury. Even though Cole confessed feeling "concerned" Judge took a positive approach towards the pitcher's injury status. Praising Cole for being a "tough guy," Judge had said:
“He’s a tough guy. We’ll see what happens. And what he gets advised to do and what he wants to do. But I’m always hoping and praying for the best, man. He’s a big part of this team. He’s the ace ?he’s the one that’s going to lead us and lead this pitching staff. So let’s see ?hopefully good news.?/span>
Apart from Gerrit Cole, Giancarlo Stanton's injury has already raised serious concerns for the Yankees' chances of qualifying for the playoffs. Aaron Judge previously revealed wanting to see a "healthy G" for the season and said:
"We'll see what the doctors say about what's going on. I've been checking with him every day, talking to him. We went out to dinner. He's got a positive mindset with everything. ... I want a healthy G in the middle of the season."
Apart from talking about the injured players in the squad, Aaron Judge broke his silence on Juan Soto's departure to the New York Mets. According to Judge, he holds "no hard feelings" for Soto. If anything, he's happy for the success of the ex-Yankees star.
