Aaron Judge reflects on the 'humbling' impact of Jackie Robinson Day

The New York Yankees recently hosted a special game on Jackie Robinson Day, and as per usual, Major League Baseball players wore jersey number 42. This is in tribute to Jackie Robinson, the baseball color barrier breaker. Aaron Judge called it a "humbling reminder". Aaron Judge, the Yankees captain, described how much this day matters to him and why it means a great deal.
Each year, on April 15th, all of the players throughout MLB wear jersey number 42, the same number worn by Jackie Robinson. It's highly special and a very emotional feel, Aaron Judge said, wearing that number. He realizes what a difficult path Jackie Robinson took and how much nerve he had to play baseball for the simple fact that Black ballplayers weren't being welcomed at the time.

Aaron Judge thinks Jackie Robinson didn't just change baseball, but he changed the world. He struggled for equality and provided all those young players with a chance to chase their dreams. Aaron Judge is grateful to play in a league where all the players are equal, and he knows it started with Robinson Jackie.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone also made remarks on the day and said that Jackie Robinson is among the most important people in American history. Aaron Boone said Jackie Robinson's courage not only benefited baseball but also brought people together across the nation.
The Yankees attended various events celebrating Jackie Robinson. They performed a special ceremony before the game. Players told us how much they admire him and how much they would love to emulate him.
