Jarred Kelenic heads to minors as Braves make changes

The Braves are attempting to mend their team by reinstating Eddie Rosario and demoting Jarred Kelenic to Triple-A. They also dropped Zach Thompson to open up space. The Braves expect these changes to strengthen their team and turn their poor start to the season around.

The Atlanta Braves changed things up in a big way on Monday. They added Eddie Rosario back to their first team and shipped young player Jarred Kelenic to their Triple-A squad, Gwinnett. They took pitcher Zach Thompson off of their roster to accommodate Eddie Rosario into the team. The Braves had not been playing that well this year, but they are hoping that these decisions will improve their play. Kelenic's subpar batting prompted the team to make this move. He hit only 167 in 65 opportunities this season to bat and was sent out on the bases 23 times.

Braves bring back Eddie Rosario as Jarred Kelenic heads to triple-A

Eddie Rosario has come back to the Braves from short times with the Nationals and Dodgers. Braves fans remember him for his great play in 2021 when he helped the Atlanta team win the World Series championship. The Braves signed him on for two years afterward, but he had been slowed by injury and poor performances.

Now 33, Eddie Rosario receives another opportunity. He will split outfield duty with Eli White as the Braves await Ronald Acuna Jr.'s recovery. Though Eddie Rosario hasn't been a big hitter since 2020, the Braves expect his veteran presence to help.
The Brave's current outfield are Michael Harris II, Stuart Fairchild, Alex Verdugo, Eli White, and Eddie Rosario. In the meantime, Kelenic Subpar will attempt to become a better player at Triple-A.

Braves remove pitcher Zach Thompson to clear roasters for changing

The Braves had to clear room for Eddie Rosario, so they removed pitcher Zach Thompson from the roster. Zach Thompson had just come back from severe arm surgery. He pitched some quality innings for the Braves this season but was struggling in the minor leagues.
Zach Thompson has previously played for the Pirates and Marlins. He's had his career ups and downs and doesn't throw too hard. Now, the Braves have a few days in which to trade him or put him on waivers. Another team could pick him up if they need some pitching assistance.
