Bronny James, the 20-year-old son of NBA superstar
LeBron James, has put to rest the ongoing nepotism debate surrounding his career. In a standout performance, he surpassed former No. 1 overall pick Ben Simmons, now with the Los Angeles Clippers, by registering a career-high performance. While the Los Angeles Lakers suffered a tough 118-89 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks, Bronny's individual achievement remains undeniable.
Bronny James makes his career-best move
Against the Milwaukee Bucks, Bronny was granted extended playing time and he seized the opportunity, finishing with a career-best 17 points. He shot an efficient 7-of-10 from the field, including 2-of-4 from beyond the three-point arc.
Now Bronny has already made more career three-pointers in just 22 games than Ben Simmons has in 373 games over eight seasons. Currently, he averages 2.3 points in fewer than six minutes per game in the NBA. However, his G-League numbers are even more impressive, as he plays over 30 minutes per game, posting averages of 20.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 5.2 assists.
As Los Angeles Lakers official X account shared a picture of Bronny, he seemed to have earned new fans who came out in praise of him. A fan wrote, “Bronny is the most underrated Laker of all time.” Another said, “Bronny has legit NBA talent. You’re blind if you say otherwise.” One more said, “Bronny taking the reins!” A comment also read: “Bronny belongs in this league, period.”
When LeBron James came out to shield Bronny James
Bronny seems to be out to prove that he’s more than just his famous last name— he’s a young player with a bright future ahead. However, he was recently involved in a controversy when his father, LeBron James, publicly confronted NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith for making negative comments about his son. While what James Sr. said wasn't clearly audible, the internet speculated that he said, “Not my son.”

Stephen A. Smith refused to acknowledge LeBron James as GOAT while crowing Michael Jordan amid his intense feud with Los Angeles Lakers legendSpeaking about the highly discussed incident, Smith said, “That wasn’t a basketball player confronting me; that was a parent, that was a father. I can’t sit here and be angry or feel slighted by LeBron James in that regard. By all accounts, he’s obviously a wonderful family man and father who cares deeply about his son. Based on some of the comments he had heard, or shall I say, I think he thought he heard, he clearly took exception to some of the things he thought I said, and he confronted me about it.”
