Giannis Antetokounmpo responds to his 20,000 points
Giannis Antetokounmpo is on his A-game as he has recently made a stunning career feat.
Joining the 20,000-point achievers’ elite club, Antetokounmpo gave his honest reaction during an interview with the press.
“I hope a lot of people see me and I represent the people who might not have it all, might not be the most talented people, but they are disciplined and they show up every night to do the right thing,” Antetokounmpo said. “No matter the outcome, they keep coming back and keep on being disciplined in their craft. I hope I can represent all those people,” the 30-year-old added.
Antetokounmpo asserted his dominance during the Dallas Mavericks vs Milwaukee Bucks matchup on March 5 at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. He finished the night with 32 points and 15 rebounds, leading the Bucks to a commanding 137-107 victory.
While Antetokounmpo’s milestone stole the headlines, the Bucks' performance as a whole was equally impressive. Damian Lillard, playing through a swollen eye from a recent elbow to the face, outscored Giannis with 34 points. Following the game, Lillard took to his Instagram to welcome his teammate to the elite club, captioning, “Welcome to the club brother.”
Bucks head coach Doc Rivers also showered praise for the Greek Freak. “I feel like it’s going unnoticed. I mean you can put his numbers up against anybody in the league this year, you really can. Then when you factor in that he plays on both sides of the ball as well to me he’s like a groundhog that he does it everyday the same thing and I think at times we do take it for granted,” Rivers told the press.
“I think that’s what makes him such a unique player. He was drafted by the Bucks, he’s won a title with the Bucks and he’s still a Buck. And he wants to be. He loves the town, loves the people, people love him back. He’s made this a place where people want to come you know in a lot of ways in play just says so much about him,” he shared.
The head coach continued, “He’s as low maintenance as any forget the stars, any player I’ve been around. I love his spirit like I know the basketball part is great. he has this pure heart you know.”

They’re so different in a lot of ways but in that you know everything that he says when he says it to the team is only about the right thing. That really helps everybody else on his team become better players too.”
Antetokounmpo is currently averaging 30.8 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 5.9 assists.
