All eyes were on Jimmy Butler as he returned to his former home ground in Miami for the first time since he was traded from the Miami Heat to the Golden State Warriors. However, without Stephen Curry in the roster, Butler and company struggled to clinch the win. Butler scored just 11 points in the action-packed match at the Kaseya Center in Miami, where the Heat dominated, claiming a 112-86 win.

Jimmy Butler’s score and stats in the Golden State Warriors vs Miami Heat game on March 25

Jimmy Butler had a quiet night in the Golden State Warriors’ matchup against the Miami Heat. In 28 minutes and 43 seconds of play, he scored 11 points, shooting 5-of-12 from the field for 41.7%. He missed both of his three-point attempts and went 1-of-1 from the free-throw line.

Aside from scoring, Butler contributed in other areas. He grabbed five rebounds, dished out six assists, and recorded one steal. However, he also had a plus-minus of -19, indicating the Warriors struggled while he was on the court.
Draymond Green also struggled. In his 23 minutes of play, Green added only 2 points alongside 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Jonathan Kuminga scored highest for the team, adding 15 with just 2 rebounds and assists. Brandin Podziemski followed with 14 points, while Gui Santos added 13.
The Golden State Warriors’ struggles seemingly extended with the loss to the Miami Heat. It was their second straight defeat. The game also carried an emotional subplot, as Jimmy Butler and Andrew Wiggins— traded for each other last month— faced off for the first time since the deal. Wiggins added 10 points with 5 rebounds and 5 assists.
Golden State’s defense, which had already been shaky in recent games, collapsed early. The Heat torched them in the first quarter and turned up the heat even more in the second, racing to a 57-40 halftime lead. Miami shot 53.8% from the field in the first half, including 72.7% from three-point range. Tyler Herro and Alec Burks led the charge, combining for 23 points on near-perfect shooting.
By the final buzzer, Miami had converted 55.8% of their total shots and an absurd 68% from beyond the arc.
Things have been quite hard for the Warriors, but the team is looking to snap out of their losing streak. However, Stephen Curry is sidelined due to pelvic contusion and head coach Steve Kerr has recently shared that he will be off, at least for a week. “He just wasn’t quite there and we just can’t risk it. He worked out yesterday and he looked good. But at the very end of the workout, just one movement that he made didn’t quite feel right,” Kerr said.

Although Butler’s arrival in the Warriors was a huge boost to the lineup, Curry’s absence puts things in a different direction just ahead of the playoffs.
