As the 2025 NFL Draft approaches, speculation is swirling around the Tennessee Titans' plans for the No. 1 overall pick—and what that could mean for quarterback Will Levis. Recent reports suggested that the team had engaged in trade talks to move on from Levis, fueling the belief that Tennessee is eyeing Miami standout Cam Ward at the top of the draft. However, Titans President of Football Operations Chad Brinker was quick to squash those rumors, making it clear that no trade discussions have taken place and that Levis will have the opportunity to compete for the starting job this season.
No trade talks: Tennessee Titans reaffirm Will Levis’ future
Chad Brinker addressed the growing speculation head-on during the NFL owners' meeting, telling team reporter Jim Wyatt that the reports of a Levis trade were entirely unfounded.
"That's a false report," Brinker said. "We have not contacted anybody, and nobody has contacted us, about Will Levis. I don't think anything has changed from the time somebody asked me about this a month ago."
Despite Levis' up-and-down 2024 season, Brinker reinforced the team's commitment to giving him a chance to prove himself in 2025.
"What's the plan with Will Levis? The plan with Will Levis is he has a chance to compete for a starting job next year. And that's like every player that's on our roster. It's no different for Will. I see him in our facility, he's working hard. Everybody knows he's a great kid, he's a hard worker and he's going to give it everything he has. And we're going to continue to work with Will Levis."
Levis, entering his third season with the
Tennessee Titans, has yet to solidify himself as the franchise quarterback. He threw for 2,091 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions last season while completing 63.1% of his passes. He also briefly lost the starting role to Mason Rudolph after suffering an injury, adding to the uncertainty surrounding his future
