"Keep him out": Aaron Rodgers’ potential move to the New York Giants sparks a controversial debate

Aaron Rodgers, one of the most popular and talented players of the NFL, has been in the news since the beginning of the 2024 season of the NFL as many fans expected him to announce his retirement. But it seems like that is not the case and Aaron Rodgers might have found a new team overall for the 2025 season of the NFL.


Recently, the Los Angeles Rams’ Matthew Stafford has been in the news as many speculated that he would end up joining the New York Giants. But it seems like that story is over and now the New York Giants are interested in hiring veterans for their team. According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, it is now confirmed that there is a “shift” in the “interest” is happening for the New York Giants and that Aaron Rodgers is now being considered for the role.
The reason why a deal could not work out between the Los Angeles Rams’ Matthew Stafford and the New York Giants is because his current team has recently announced about retaining the star player in the team for the upcoming season of the NFL.
With Matthew Stafford being out of the equation, it is understandable why the New York Giants want the NFL veteran Aaron Rodgers to join their team. However, this has sparked a divided reaction among fans.
A fan wrote, “The Giants have nothing to lose really because if it doesn't work with a young quarterback or Aaron Rodgers both the GM & Head Coach will most likely be gone next season. May need to roll the dice on Rodgers 🤷‍♂️”
Another fan wrote, “Yes! Get him. He has 2 great years left in him. Do it. 🙏🏻”
However, for other fans this decision has not gone down too well. A fan wrote, “Keep him out of New York. We don’t need him anywhere near Nabers”, while another fan wrote, “Why would any team do this to themselves..”

A third fan wrote, “The Giants OL was worse than the Jets lol. Aaron at this stage in his aging career, needs a good OL. Aaron doesn’t won’t to take a beating. I doubt he had any interest in the Giants. If I’m Aaron, I would just wait for the right team.”

In 2023, NFL veteran Aaron Rodgers was traded to the New York Jets but could not participate much in the 2023 season of the NFL due to his Achilles injury. He came back for the 2024 season and in January 2025 the New York Jets announced the end of their partnership.
