Patrick Mahomes is wasting no time getting back to work as he prepares to lead the Kansas City Chiefs in their quest for another Super Bowl title. After falling short in Super Bowl LIX against the Philadelphia Eagles, the superstar quarterback has already started his intense offseason training regimen.

Patrick Mahomes locked in for 2025 season

Patrick Mahomes recently posted a video on Instagram showing him in action alongside his personal trainer, Bobby Stroupe. His caption made it clear that he is already locked in for the 2025 season, "We shall be back to the Bowl next year."
Among the many reactions to Mahomes’ post, one stood out—his brother, Jackson Mahomes, who hyped up the reigning MVP with a simple but energetic message, "GO TIMEEE"

As Mahomes grinds through his workouts, the Chiefs are also undergoing significant changes. With their 13th season under head coach Andy Reid on the horizon, Kansas City is making key roster moves to remain competitive.
One of the biggest departures this offseason was star offensive lineman Joe Thuney, who was traded to the Chicago Bears. On the defensive side, safety Justin Reid left to join the New Orleans Saints, reuniting with former Texans teammate Tyrann Mathieu.
To compensate for these losses, the Chiefs have made several strategic additions. They bolstered their offensive line with former 49ers lineman Jaylon Moore and added running back Elijah Mitchell to strengthen their ground game. Tight end Robert Tonyan and linebacker Blake Lynch have also been promoted to the practice squad, while defensive additions Kristian Fulton and Jerry Tillery aim to provide much-needed depth.

A new backup quarterback room in Kansas City

One of the most notable changes this offseason has been at the backup quarterback position. With Carson Wentz hitting free agency, the Chiefs acted swiftly to secure reinforcements. They signed Bailey Zappe from the Cleveland Browns and Gardner Minshew from the Las Vegas Raiders to serve as Mahomes’ backups.
Minshew, known for his charismatic personality and solid play, acknowledged his new role with humility, "I look forward to just working with (Mahomes), helping in any way I can, whether it’s on the practice field (or) in the meeting room. (When) getting ready for game days, if there’s film preparation I can help. ... I just couldn’t be more grateful for the role, and (I) just want to help in any way I really can."

As the Chiefs prepare for Organized Team Activities (OTAs) beginning April 21, all eyes are now on the NFL Draft, which takes place from April 24 to 26. Holding the 31st overall pick, Kansas City has the opportunity to add another key piece to its roster. With Mahomes laser-focused on returning to the Super Bowl and the front office making key moves, the Chiefs are determined to stay at the top of the NFL in 2025.
