Dallas stars' playoff push takes a hit as Jason Robertson sidelined with injury

Right before the playoffs came a rather unfortunate position for the Dallas Stars. Forward Jason Robertson is out with an injury, leaving an already gaping hole in the Stars' offensive lineup. With the team getting ready for another scenario of a deep run in the postseason, the timing cannot be worse.
It was paramount for the Stars this season, who counted on him heavily for scoring. His absence will certainly test the team for depth and willpower. Now Dallas must figure out how to cope without one of its key players.


The injury raises red flags for the Stars' playoff chances. He leads the team in points and is a vital cog in their power play. The offense will have trouble keeping the firepower without him.
They do have talented forwards on the roster, but nobody possesses the chemistry Robertson has with his linemates Roope Hintz and Joe Pavelski. Head coach Pete DeBoer will have to make some changes in lines and strategies to make sure the Stars stay competitive.

The defense and goaltending of the Stars will have to raise its game in line with this. Jake Oettinger in the goal will become all the more important for the Stars if they want to stay low and tight in scoring games.
