Connor McDavid has already missed four matches of the Edmonton Oilers after he sustained a lower body injury at last week’s match against the Winnipeg Jets. It was not just Connor McDavid who was injured, though; even Leon Draisaitl was dealing with an injury, but he returned to the ice last night. This has fans stressed about Connor McDavid’s return, but it seems like he will be returning soon.

Connor McDavid might return to face the St. Louis Blues, says NHL insiders

As per a recent post made by the 2 Mutts Hockey Podcast on X, Connor McDavid is all set to return on 9th April to face the St. Louis Blues.
The recent post made by the 2 Mutts Hockey Podcast on X reads as, “The return of #LetsGoOilers Captain Connor McDavid is set for April 9th vs the #STLBlues & he will travel with the team on the California trip to start in April.”
However, neither the Edmonton Oilers nor Connor McDavid has confirmed this news. A few days ago, Edmonton Oilers’ coach, Kris Knoblauch, had spoken about Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl being out for a “week at least”, but with Draisaitl returning last night, fans have become more curious about McDavid’s situation.
Last night, as Leon Draisaitl broke records by scoring his 50th goal in this season, he spoke to the media after the Oilers won against the Calgary Flames.
Leon Draisaitl spoke about the impact of the injuries he and Connor McDavid had sustained and said, "In the big picture, I think it's good for guys to get two, three more minutes a night and find their game a little bit more. It was probably for the better for us."
After Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl were out because of injuries, even though the Edmonton Oilers had managed to win their first game without them, things got only worse for the team after that.
The Edmonton Oilers faced devastating losses against the Seattle Kraken and the Dallas Stars. But after the win against the Calgary Flames last night, things are looking good for the team as they gear up to face the Vegas Golden Knights.
An official confirmation from the Edmonton Oilers is awaited about Connor McDavid's return.
