Former WWE Ring Announcer Says Vince McMahon Might Have Moved Her to a Different Role

A well-liked former WWE ring announcer voiced that under Vince McMahon's leadership, she would have been transitioned to a different role. Despite her objective to elevate her ring-announcing role, WWE retained her due to her success, leading to her departure in October 2024.

A popular WWE ring announcer who left the company believes that if Vince McMahon had still been in charge, he would have possibly moved her to a different role.
Vince McMahon ruled the roost for WWE for many years. However, the regime began to change after he sold his company to Endeavour in January 2024, which led to the formation of its new parent company, TKO Group Holdings, merging with UFC. Moreover, McMahon exited the company shortly after when he was slapped with a lawsuit by a former WWE employee, Janel Grant, for sexual misconduct allegations.
However, a former WWE ring announcer believed that had McMahon still been in charge, things would have been different for her moving forward in the company.

Which popular WWE ring announcer claimed that she would have had a different role under Vince McMahon's regime?

In a recent interview on Busted Open Radio, former WWE ring announcer Samantha Irvin stated that Vince McMahon would have moved her to a different role had he still been in charge. She said, “Growing up with Vince, honestly, if there was a Samantha Irvin, Vince would have taken her off of ring announcing. He would have been like, ‘Put her somewhere else and have her do something else. ”
Samantha Irvin revealed that her goal with her ring announcing role was to make it such a big hit that WWE would be forced to move her to a much bigger role. “When they asked me to do it, I said, ‘I’m going to inject some crack into this so that they move me off of it. I’m going to make this the biggest thing ever.”
But WWE perceived her to stay in that role after witnessing her success in it and being highly popular with the fans. That made her decision firm to exit WWE in October 2024 which was a huge shocker among the wrestling fans. “Ring announcing is not my goal, and I’m very goal-oriented. When I accomplished all of that stuff, it was, ‘Okay, that’s it. Now I’m going to keep doing it, and there is nothing else to work for or reach,’ that’s when I had to step away.]” said Irvin.

Samantha Irvin is venturing into music right now, with a new single dropping on February 14th. Moreover, she is still open to the idea of returning to wrestling, so it will be interesting to see if that happens in the future.
