Pokémon GO trainers have a new challenge on their hands with the introduction of Kurta Pikachu, a special costumed variant of the iconic mascot. This unique Pikachu is part of the Festival of Colors 2025 event and is available for a limited time. Here's how you can catch Kurta Pikachu in Pokémon GO.
Kurta Pickachu event details
Kurta Pikachu makes its debut at 10 AM IST on March 13, 2025, and will be available until 8 PM IST on March 17, 2025. During this period, trainers around the world can acquire this unique costumed variant of Pikachu.
How to catch Kurta Pikachu
There are two main ways to obtain Kurta Pikachu in Pokémon GO:
- One-star raids: Kurta Pikachu will appear as a one-star raid boss throughout the event. Trainers in India can find and battle Kurta Pikachu in Gyms hosting these special raids. They can participate in these battles in person or using Remote Raid Passes. For trainers outside India, the only way to acquire this version of Pikachu is to join remote raids via apps dedicated to this purpose or through invitations from in-game friends from the region.
- Trading: If you miss a raid, you can still obtain Kurta Pikachu via trading. A friend who has caught Kurta Pikachu can trade it to you. However, this will count as a Special Trade, meaning it requires more Stardust and can be done only once per day with a friend.
The odds of finding a Shiny Kurta Pikachu are approximately 1 in 512 encounters. To maximize your chances, participate in multiple raids or trade with a lucky friend who has found one.
Raid boss stats
Kurta Pikachu will have 3,277 CP as a raid boss. When caught from raids, it will have the following max CPs:
- 536 at level 20 without weather boost
- 670 at level 25 with rainy weather
