Noise has built a reputation for offering feature-rich smartwatches at affordable prices. The company has been delivering sophisticated technology without the hefty price tag, and the recently-launched Noise ColorFit Pro 6 Max is a prime example of this approach.
The Noise ColorFit Pro 6 Max boasts an impressive array of features for its Rs 7,499 price tag, including a metal build, AMOLED display, built-in GPS, AI, and comprehensive health tracking. But can these features alone persuade consumers to choose the ColorFit Pro 6 Max in a crowded smartwatch market? Here’s our review that will delve into the device's capabilities and assess whether it truly delivers on its promises.
Noise ColorFit Pro 6 Max design and display
A contemporary smartwatch that seamlessly blends style and functionality, the ColorFit Pro 6 Max gets a stainless steel casing that ensures resilience against everyday wear and tear. There’s a diverse range of colour options that cater to individual preferences. These options include: Pure Titanium and Chrome Black (Metal Strap), Green Titanium and Signature Brown (Magnetic Strap), Brown Titanium and Copper Black (Leather Strap) and Jet Black and Blue Titanium (Silicone Strap).
The ColorFit Pro 6 Max retains a design largely consistent with its predecessor, the ColorFit Pro 5 Max. It features a rectangular watch body, complete with a rotatable crown and a button for navigation. The front is dominated by a spacious display, while the back houses the necessary sensors for health and activity tracking, including a heart rate sensor and SpO2 sensor.
The main difference lies in the repositioning of the speaker grille and microphone. The speaker grille has been moved from the right side to the left side of the watch, and the microphone now resides on the right.
Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the ColorFit Pro 6 Max boasts an ATM5 water resistance rating – upgraded from IP68 in the ColorFit Pro 5 Max. This robust protection safeguards the smartwatch from dust, dirt, and sand, and allows it to withstand pressures equivalent to a depth of 50 metres. This makes the ColorFit Pro 6 Max a suitable companion for a variety of activities, including swimming, showering and handwashing, without fear of damage.
Coming to the display, the Noise ColorFit Pro 6 Max gets a 1.96-inch HD AMOLED panel with 410x502px resolution. The ColorFit Pro 6 Max's display truly shines with its vibrant colours and deep blacks, creating an immersive visual experience. Even in bright sunlight, the display remains clear and easily readable, making it perfect for outdoor activities.
Noise ColorFit Pro 6 Max performance and health features
The Noise ColorFit Pro 6 Max is powered by the powerful EN2 processor to undertake tasks easily. We did not witness any lag during our time with the watch except we felt the touch are quite responsive but the swipes across the screen are fairly smooth.
The smartwatch runs Nebula UI 2.0 that essentially blends futuristic design with practical functionality. The icons are large and pretty much resemble the ones on smartphones, helping us to quickly identify them from its quick view panel. Add to that the smartwatch's Always-On Display (AoD) that helped us keep tabs on important information without having to physically access it. The raise-to-wake feature works as it is supposed to.
There are a bunch of other key features that set the ColorFit Pro 6 Max apart from the competition.
There’s an AI Companion, a personalised fitness companion that analyses users’ activity data and provides intelligent advice, along with insights into your sleep patterns. For example, everyday when we wake up, we get a notification about our quality of sleep.
We can also ask the AI to “analyse my sleep for last night” and it generates data telling us our duration of sleep, sleep score on the basis of Deep and Light sleep pattern, REM Count and Awake Time. The AI also provided a comparison with the Standard Benchmarks. Other data generated included suggestions for improvement.
Coming to health features, the Noise ColorFit Pro 6 Max gets over 100 sports modes, including different types of running, cycling, badminton, yoga, swimming and even core training. To assess the accuracy of the ColorFit Pro 6 Max's health tracking capabilities, we compared its data with that of the Google Pixel Watch 3 and the Gabit smart ring. Our findings indicate that the ColorFit Pro 6 Max's health data aligns closely with these established devices.
There are Intelligent Notifications and Gestures that simplify interactions, allowing us to tap to take photos, shake wrist to reject calls and cover the watch to mute notifications. In addition, we can control music playback when working in the gym and even use the dialpad to call someone.
In terms of calling performance, the ColorFit Pro 6 Max's speaker delivers ample volume for clear conversations even in moderately noisy environments like a newsroom. The microphone also performs well, effectively capturing voice input for clear communication.
We did encounter one notable issue with the calling functionality. Whenever we made or received a call, the ColorFit Pro 6 Max automatically became the default audio output device. This proved inconvenient specifically in situations when our phone was readily available, and the watch was in another room. Switching the audio output back to the phone every time a call was made was a cumbersome process and detracted from the overall user experience.
Having said that, equipped with Bluetooth 5.3, the ColorFit Pro 6 Max ensured seamless and reliable connectivity for both Android and iOS users, enhancing call quality and overall user experience.
Noise ColorFit Pro 6 Max app and battery
Noise's claim of a 7-day battery life for the ColorFit Pro 6 Max proved accurate in our testing. However, we observed that using the built-in GPS significantly reduced battery life compared to regular usage without GPS. It charged in about 2 hours using the given charger and a 45W charger that we use to juice up our phones.
One of the most impressive features of the ColorFit Pro 6 Max is its cloud-based watch face selection. This allows users to choose from a vast library of watch faces stored on the cloud, accessible through the companion app. With countless options available, users can personalize their smartwatch to match their style and preferences.
Taking customisation a step further, the ColorFit Pro 6 Max even utilises AI to generate personalised watch faces tailored to individual tastes. Users can describe an idea and the watch delivers. For example, we asked it to create a watch face, “Batman watching over the city at night”, and it provided us three options to choose from, each matching our input command.
Wearers can use the already available watch backgrounds, filters and text for customisation, or they can even upload a photo from their gallery, for example their pets, friends or family, to even make it more personal.
Apart from allowing us to customise the watch, the NoiseFit app provided a granular control over tracking data, offering detailed metrics and AI-powered suggestions based on individual user information.
Noise ColorFit Pro 6 Max verdict
The Noise ColorFit Pro 6 Max is a stylish and feature-packed smartwatch that offers a compelling blend of form and function. Its durable stainless steel construction, vibrant AMOLED display, and extensive customisation options make it a strong contender in the market. The addition of AI-powered watch faces and personalised fitness insights further enhances its appeal.
While the automatic audio output switching during calls presents a minor inconvenience, the overall performance, health tracking capabilities and impressive battery life make the ColorFit Pro 6 Max a worthy choice for users seeking a versatile and stylish smartwatch at a price of Rs 7,499. If you're looking for a smartwatch that combines style, functionality, and affordability, the Noise ColorFit Pro 6 Max is certainly worth considering.
