Feature

Description

Go long with the Alpha lens of 800 mm super-telephoto zoom

The FE 400-800mm F6.3-8 G OSS covers a 400 mm to 800 mm range and extends up to 1600 mm with a 2x teleconverter. Its inner-zoom mechanism maintains a constant lens length for stable handling, while a smooth zoom ring enables precise adjustments without accidental changes.

Beautiful rendering and natural bokeh throughout the zoom range

An 11-blade circular aperture produces smooth, creamy bokeh, and six ED glass elements control chromatic aberration. Flare and ghosting are suppressed in backlit conditions for enhanced image quality.

Fast, precise AF captures even the quickest subjects

Two precision linear motors drive fast and accurate autofocus, supporting up to 120 fps burst shooting. A focus range switch optimises control for various distances, while focus breathing is minimised for improved video quality.

Solid support for handheld or tripod-mounted shooting

Built-in Optical SteadyShot image stabilisation reduces shake in handheld shooting, and additional stabilisation is provided when paired with an Alpha body. A non-removable foot and a rotatable tripod mount support versatile shooting orientations.

High-level control and reliability for any situation

Three focus hold buttons arranged at 90° increments allow easy access in any orientation, and customisable functions enhance control. A dust and moisture-resistant design with a fluorine-coated front element ensures durability, while Full-time DMF facilitates precise manual focus adjustments.
