3 children rescued from farm

Officials from the revenue department, child welfare police, and childline rescued three children who were working in a coconut farm in Kangayam, Nagapattinam district. The children were aged between 14 and 16 years and were from Erayankudy in Kilvelur taluk of Nagapattinam district. The children's parents, aruldoss and Mythili, were also staying at the farm. The official ruled out the possibility of bonded labor, and stated that the family moved freely and often visited markets. The rescued children were transferred to a children's home and will be produced before the child welfare committee. The labour department will register a complaint against the farm owner under the child labor prohibition and regulation act of 1986.
