The state government failed to act despite prior intelligence, appearing as a mute spectator. Hindus have lost faith in the state police, demanding BSF or CRPF camps for safety.

Following communal clashes in Murshidabad linked to protests over the Waqf (Amendment) Act, the National Commission for Women (ncw), led by Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar, and West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose visited the violence-affected areas.

Elvish Yadav faced criticism for racist remarks against Chum Darang on a podcast, leading to condemnation from the Arunachal Pradesh State Women’s Commission. Summoned by the National Commission for Women, Yadav apologized for his offensive comments, acknowledging the hurt caused and expressing regret. He stated that he holds no personal grudges and has submitted his apology.

"Schools have reopened here after 10 days. Due to the violence on 11th April, schools were closed. The situation in Dhuliyan is better now. There are no problems now. Such an incident never took place here in the past..." the local said speaking to ANI.

Simultaneously, an ncw team reported women were molested and forcibly evicted, while the VHP plans nationwide protests demanding President's rule, highlighting the escalating tensions and political fallout.

A retired government teacher in Delhi received a 22-month sentence and a fine of Rs 6.65 lakh in a cheque bounce case. Following the conviction, the accused threatened the judge in open court and attempted to assault her. The judge also issued a show cause notice to the convict's lawyer for alleged misbehavior and harassment.

The ncw will submit a report to the Centre, highlighting the people's demands, and met with the family of victims allegedly killed during the protests.
