Important whale watching destinations
Monterey Bay, California
Monterey Bay, located on the central California coast, has a rich and diverse marine ecosystem. Visit this region to witness the humpback whales, gray whales, blue whales, and even orcas. There are cruises that one can be a part of. If you are lucky, the whales will even come close to you.
San Juan Islands, Washington
The waters around San Juan Islands are a prime habitat for orcas. Whale watching tours provide opportunities to observe both resident and migrating orca pods.
