‘Phulki’ emerges as the topper beating ‘Kothha’; Take a look at the top 5 shows on the rating chart

‘Phulki’, the journey of a female boxer, tops the 42nd week's rating chart, beating ‘Kothha’ and ‘Geeta LLB’. ‘Neem Phooler Madhu’ slips to third, while ‘Jagaddhatri’ retains fourth. ‘Uraan’, ‘Roshnai’, and ‘Shubho Bibaho’ share the fifth spot.

As per the rating chart of the 42nd week of 2024, ‘Phulki’ has emerged as the topper on the rating chart. ‘Phulki’, starring Abhishek Bose and Divyani Mondal, narrates the journey of a female boxer and how she navigates the ups and downs in her life trained by her mentor, and emerges victorious. The ‘Netaji’ fame actor Abhishek plays the character of the male protagonist, Rohit, and Divyani embodies the role of the female protagonist, Phulki.

‘Kothha’, which tied with ‘Phulki’ for the top spot last week, has slipped to the second spot this week. ‘Kothha’ stars Saheb Bhattacharya and Susmita Dey in the lead roles, narrates the story of a small-town girl who is a soft and caring individual at the core. On the other hand, the male protagonist Agniva aka AV doesn’t have a cordial relationship with his family members.

‘Geeta LLB’ has tied for the second spot on this week’s rating chart with ‘Kothha’. ‘Geeta LLB’ starring Hiya Mukherjee and Kunal Shil in lead roles, essays the story of an ambitious lawyer named Geeta Ganguly from a middle-class family who strives to become successful as a lawyer and aspires to make a mark in the male-dominated field. Owing to its popularity, ‘Geeta LBB’ has also been adapted to a new Hindi show.

‘Neem Phooler Madhu’ slipped to the third spot on this week’s rating chart. The Pallavi Sharma and Rubel Das starrer Bengali mega serial essays the story of a modern girl getting married into an orthodox family. Parna (female protagonist) and Srijan (male protagonist) get married in an arranged marriage setting and Parna finds it difficult to gel with her in-laws. The popular Bengali show took a five-year leap in its storyline earlier this year and introduced Srijan and Parna’s daughter Sriparna to the show.

‘Jagaddhatri’ retained the fourth position on the rating chart this week as well. The Ankita Mullick and Soumyadeep Mukherjee-starrer Bengali mega serial used to be the topper once upon a time. However, the serial lost its spark and has been struggling to make it to the top 5 for the past several months.

‘Uraan’, ‘Roshnai’ and ‘Shubho Bibaho’ jointly claimed the fifth spot on this week’s rating chart.

‘Uraan’, the Pratik Sen and Ratnapriya Das starrer serial has been keeping up with a steady run on the rating chart for the last few weeks, On ‘Uraan’, Pratik Sen is seen essaying the character of Maharaj, an alcoholic. On the other hand, Ratnapriya’s character Pujarini is the polar opposite of Maharaj. The show navigates the journey of Maharaj and Pujarini as their paths collide.

‘Roshnai’ that stars Sean Banerjee and Anushka Goswami in the lead roles, revolves around a dancing protégé named Roshnai, hailing from Banaras. Roshnai, played by Anushka, inherits her talent in dancing from her mother Sudarshana. Sean Banerjee plays the character of the male protagonist, Aranyak, in ‘Roshnai’.

The Sonamoni Saha and Honey Bafna starrer Bengali TV show ‘Shubho Bibaho’ revolves around the journey of a divorced woman and how she defies the stigma of being a divorcee. Sudha, the female protagonist, is a woman who chooses to focus on her professional life after handling a blow in her personal life. Tej, the male protagonist, hailing from an aristocratic business family, is not that interested in settling down. Their paths cross with each other and ‘Shubho Bibaho’ portrays the journey they share.
