Sampurna Lahiri bags a new television project

Actress Sampurna Lahiri, who was last seen in the Bengali remake of Hindi supernatural drama ‘Nazar’, is ready to appear on a television serial soon. Sampurna will be a part of a multi-starrer television project which will feature some of the most popular faces of Bengali industry including Neel Bhattacharya if sources are to be believed.
Sampurna was giving the small screen a miss after John Bhattacharyya and Diya Mukherjee starrer ‘Nojor’ ended its journey in 2019.She played the role of a daayan in the supernatural TV show that has several seasons in Hindi. Although the Bengali version of Monalisa starrer had a brief run, Sampurna earned praises for her performance in the show.
The shooting of Sampurna’s upcoming television show will soon start.
Sampurna made her debut on the small screen with television series ‘Tare Ami Chokhe Dehini’, which helped her become a household name. She made a smooth transition into the silver screen with her success in television and featured in ‘Goray Golod’, Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee-directed ‘Accident’, Anjan Dutt’s ‘Byomkesh Phire Elo’ and many others.
The actress has also forayed into digital platform and has also played meaty roles in two web series including ‘Bou Keno Psycho’ and a recently premiered suspense thriller.
On the small screen, Sampurna took part in the Bengali version of Bigg Boss and was one of the most talked about contestants of that season. Her stay inside the glass house was quite eventful too. After the successful stint in the reality show, she was also seen essaying prominent roles in TV adaptation of ‘Byomkesh’ and ‘Robi Thakurer Golpo’.
