Sudipta Chakraborty is set for a comeback on Bengali TV. The National Award winning Bengali actress is turning a page in her professional life. Sudipta is taking up hosting duties for a new non-fiction show on Bengali TV. The new television show is designed in a way that empowers women of Bengal, boosts their confidence and enables them to have financial independence to a certain extent.
As per the format of the new game show on Bengali TV, ‘Lakh Takar Lokkhilabh’, all women from Bengal can participate in the show via an audition process. ‘Lakh Takar Lokkhilabh’ is to be played in four rounds. At the end of each round, there is a cash prize for the contestants. There is a cash prize of one lakh rupees for the winner in the final round. Each episode will have three female contestants. No contestant shall return empty-handed.
As per the creators of the show, ‘Lakh Takar Lokkhilabh’ is not just a non-fiction game show, this show aspires to be a platform for women to fulfill their own dreams. This new initiative is to strengthen the desire of women to be self-reliant.
Sudipta Chakraborty, who is a popular face in the Bengali entertainment industry, is going to serve as the host of the show. As per Sudipta, “I’ve always liked hosting non-fiction shows. It feels like it is my place, I belong here as myself. When Shubhankar Chattopadhyay offered me the show, I didn’t hesitate at all. Only a fool would say no such an offer! And I haven’t had the opportunity to do a non-fiction show under the guidance and direction of Shubhankar. This seems like a culmination of both of our wishes.” Sudipta adds, “My viewers keep on saying that they want to see me more on Bengali TV. I too want to do more on Bengali TV. But I’m not certain if I’d be able to dedicate the amount of time a fiction show on TV demands. I’ve got good offers, but I don’t know if I can manage the time and still keep up with my other ventures. Non-fiction shows, on the other hand, lets me keep both the avenues open. Besides, I can be fully myself on this kind of show.” Sudipta says that she is extremely excited and looking forward to the show. She is hopeful that with ‘Lakh Takar Lokkhilabh’, she will be able to reach a wider audience.
‘Lakh Takar Lokkhilabh’ is slated to premiere in November.
