Sudipta Chakraborty trolled for her old remark on Dev

Actress Sudipta Chakraborty, who has been a part of Tollywood for a long time now, has mired in a controversy for an old remark on TV show ‘Apur Sangsar’. Aired in 2017, the fun-filled chat show was hosted by Saswata Chatterjee and also featured Sourav Das, Sanchari Mondal and others. Apparently, Sudipta made a remark on actor Dev hinting at his pronunciation when Saswata asked what she would like to question if she was a Page three reporter for a day.She ‘jokingly’ said, “2023 or 2032, when will we see you delivering Bengali dialogues perfectly?” The old episode which also featured Sudipta’s elder sister Bidipta Chakraborty as the guest, has now been uploaded on the OTT platform of the TV channel and the part where Sudipta spoke about Dev caught the attention of the netizens leaving his (Dev’s) ‘disappointment’.
The actress, who is now working with Dev in his upcoming period film, has been targeted by trolls on social media and was forced to open up on the topic. In her post, Sudipta, however, blamed the media for bringing up the old incident and also mentioned that her statement was a light-hearted comment. Her intention was never to hurt anyone. Sudipta also mentioned that over the years, Dev has 'improved' a lot.

Incidentally, since the beginning of his career, Dev has been criticised as well as trolled for his pronunciation. But he never took the trolls by heart in fact, time and again, the Tolly heartthrob openly spoke about his pronunciation and said, he has no problem in accepting issues or any of his ‘shortcomings’.
Coming back to the old show which is making a buzz now, ‘Apur Sangsar’ was a fun-filled chat show which earned a lot of appreciation from the audience for its amazing star cast, Saswata’s natural hosting skill and the guest who graced the show. In one of those episodes, the show welcomed Chakraborty sister duo and they opened up in a candid conversation with Saswata. The topic ranged from love, personal life, childhood memories, hilarious revelations and they played dumb charade too.
Sudipta’s comment which has now become a topic of discussion, was a part of a fun segment in the show where Sudipta and Bidipta were asked by the host what they would like to question to Tolly superstars Prosenjit Chatterjee, Jeet and Dev if they turn a page three reporter just for a day. Hinting at Prosenjit’s previous marriages, she would like to ask ‘How Bumba Da managed everything in a calm manner?’ While Bidipta was seen laughing out loud seeing her sister’s actions, it raised Saswata’s eyebrows who later jokingly guessed how Bumba Da might react to this. Speaking what she would like to ask Dev, as page three reporter, she made the remark which now has become viral. On the other hand, Sudipta mentioned that she was the first heroine of Jeet in a TV show. They were a part of TV show ‘Vish Vriksh’ and said, “I would like to ask him, aapke iss haseen chehre ke peeche raaz kya hai?”
