Veteran artist Ranjit Mallick to make his web debut in a Haranath Chakraborty-directed project

In the past two years, a number of actors, directors and producers of Tollywood have forayed into the digital space, keeping the popularity of OTT platforms in mind. While Abir Chatterjee, Swastika Mukherjee, Parambrata Chatterjee, Anjan Dutta, Arindam Sil have already made a mark on OTT platforms, a few others', including, director Raj Chakraborty and Subhashree Ganguly’s debut projects (Abar Proloy and Indubala Bhater Hotel respectively) will stream soon.
Now, yet another very popular artist of this entertainment industry is also set to make his debut in the digital space. Actor Ranjit Mallick, who made his acting debut with eminent director Mrinal Sen’s film ‘Interview’, will be seen in a web series. Industry sources suggest, he will feature in an OTT project directed by none other than Haranath Chakraborty. The title of this series is ‘Ghosh Babur Retirement’.
According to the sources, the shooting for the upcoming series has also started. The story of upcoming series ‘Ghosh Babur Retirement’ has an interesting plot which will revolve around a family. This is not the first time director Haranath and Ranjit Mallick have teamed up for an entertainment project. The jodi has given several hit movies to the Bengali audience starting from ‘Nabab’, ‘Pratibad’ to ‘Naater Guru’ and is considered as one of the most successful actor-director pairs of this industry. It will be a treat for the audience to see them yet again this time in a web series.
