Aditya Redij and Aleya Ghosh to play the lead couple in fantasy drama Naagmani

Actor Aditya Redij, who was last seen as Shiva Lashkare in Bawara Dil, which wrapped up in August last year after a run of six months, has bagged a new show. He has been finalised to play the male lead in Ved Raj’s next titled Naagmani. The makers have roped in Aleya Ghosh to play the protagonist. She will play a shape-shifting woman in the fantasy drama.
Informs a source associated with the show, “Naagmani is a fantasy drama set in present times. While the bahu will play a naagin, the saas will be essay a witch. Aleya looks the part and is perfect for the character. Aditya will play her love interest. We are in the process of casting the actress to play the evil mother-in-law. Hopefully, we will be able to finalise the artiste in a couple of days. The show is expected to go on floors soon.”
Both Aditya and Aleya remained unavailable for comment.
This is Aditya’s maiden attempt in the fantasy genre. He has played various shades, but this will be the first time in his career spanning 15 years that he will try something in the supernatural space. The actor, who has been a part of several TV shows, including Na Aana Is Des Laado, Junoon - Aisi Nafrat Toh Kaisa Ishq, Peshwa Bajirao, and Porus, has always maintained that he wants to attempt versatile characters and that’s possibly one of the reasons for him to take up Naagmani.
Just like the male lead, Aleya, too has been a part of mythological shows -- Paramavatar Shri Krishna, RadhaKrishn and Karn Sangini. However, this is the second time the actress will be dabbling in the fantasy genre after her stint on Hero - Gayab Mode On. Naagmani will also mark her debut as the protagonist. She has so far played prominent characters in various TV shows.
