Did you know 90’s popular TV show Surabhi hosted by Renuka Shahane and Siddharth Kak received 14 lakhs letters in a week?

Surabhi the 90’s TV show was a popular Indian cultural magazine show that was hosted by actors Renuka Shahane and Siddharth Kak. The show wanted to show the new generation of youth in a different style. Recently, Twitter film history pics shared a picture from behind the scenes with the actors, which made everyone nostalgic.


In the picture, one can see a big pile of letters that were loaded up behind the actors as they sat down and were reading and signing each fan mail sent through postcards. Renuka and Siddharth received fourteen lakhs letters in a week's time in 1993 and everyone was surprised by the popularity of the show.

For those who are unaware of the show Surabhi, it was a show that spoke of 90s Indian culture and the way they presented the culture was very different. The show also had a weekly quiz competition among the audience. The main purpose of the show was to infuse the culture and values of our country. Renuka Shahane and Siddharth Kak were the hosts of the show.
