Historical drama Vidrohi may go off air soon; the last episode is likely to air in the first week of March. The show which has Sharad Malhotra,
Sulagna Panigrahi and Hemal Dev in the lead went on air on October 11th. Says a source, "It hasn't been able to rake in the desired ratings because of which a decision to wrap it up has been taken. A new show named Chandani might replace it or it may get a new time slot."
When we contacted Sulagna Panigrahi, she wasn't aware of anything and would need to talk to the production house.
Sharad remained unavailable for comment.
On the other hand, Hemal, who is playing the role of Kalyani, said, “I had heard that something like this could happen, but I have no idea if it already had. I will have to confirm with the production house.”
The story of Vidrohi is set in 1817’s Odisha, where rebels were fighting for their rights against the British era. The story also revolves around Sharad and Sulagna’s personal life.
In an interview with us in the past, Sharad had said that it was a challenge to work with two female leads. Talking about his equation with Hemal and Sulagna, he had said, “I am working with both of them for the first time. Considering that Hemal doesn't have much experience, she is performing very well. I like her confidence and knowledge of camera angles. Sulagna is a polished actress. She has been around for a number of years and has a lot of experience. There is an effortless chemistry between us and she is someone very easy to work with. So, yes, it has been great working with both of them. Both are very different and unique in their own ways.”
