Aarya Babbar, who essays the role of Kalikant Thakur in Jagriti-Ek Nayi Subah said, “Baisakhi isn’t just a festival, it’s a feeling that lives in every Punjabi heart. For me, it brings back a wave of childhood memories soaked in color, joy, and deep-rooted tradition. I remember waking up early on Baisakhi morning, the house buzzing with excitement. My parents would dress us in our best traditional clothes, and we’d head to the Gurudwara. The soulful sound of shabad kirtan, the aroma of kada prasad, and the peace we felt bowing our heads in prayer—it all felt magical."
He further said, "After the prayers, we’d sit for langar— sharing a soulful meal. That sense of love and equality left a deep impact.
This year, I hope we hold on to that magic. Let’s celebrate with joy but also with intention—support our farmers, uplift one another, and stay connected to our roots. Whether you're dancing to bhangra beats, cooking festive meals, or just spending time with loved ones, do it with a heart full of gratitude. Sat Sri Akal, and lots of love from me and my family to yours.”
