Both actors eventually left the show due to personal and professional reasons. The baton has now been passed to Nitish Bhaluni, who currently plays Tapu.
Taarak Mehta, the voice of reason in the show, was portrayed by Shailesh Lodha since the very beginning. However, due to some differences with the makers, especially around payment matters, he bid farewell to the show. In 2022, Sachin Shroff stepped in to take on the iconic role, continuing the journey of the much-loved character.
Anjali Mehta’s role, originally played by Neha Mehta, is now portrayed by Sunayana Fozdar. She became part of the show in 2020 and has been winning hearts ever since with her graceful performance.
