Katha Ankahee maker Ravi Bhushan on TV directors being looked down upon by other platforms; writes ‘We are doing TV better than you are doing OTT and Movies dekh lo’

TV show Katha Ankahee director Ravi Bhushan lashed out at people from ‘other’ platforms, who look down upon TV directors. He took to social media and wrote a long note explaining how grueling the task is to take out 20-21 min episodes.
He vented out his feelings after hearing a similar statement from a TV writer friend, who shifted to writing for web. He wrote, “‘TV mein karna hi kya hota hai, Aur kya hi kar lega TV director…jo aata hai aankh band karke chhaapte jaao…’ I’ve heard this a million times over all these years of directing TV shows…and I heard it again today from a TV writer friend who has just ‘graduated’ to writing for ‘WEB’…”
Explaining in detail, the job of a TV director, he ended by saying, “So to all the people from our sister concerns ‘Web’ and ‘Movies’, who look down upon us, I say ‘We are doing TV better than you are doing OTT and Movies…Dekh lo…!!’”

Many celebs replied to his note. Sayantani Ghoshwrote, “So well said . totally agree with you ! The world of TV and all of us deserve a lot of respect ! I ain't saying that there aren't issues , yes even we can better ourselves in many areas .. but then again who is perfect ??? With the kinda timelines we have ,it's a damn big effort to keep delivering and trying to do that well ! I wonder if ever any member of our so called sis concern counterparts , can perform n deliver the way we do ! Whereas we ,who the world calls as " TV ppl" will sure as hell rock any challenges thrown at us.Proud To belong here -the world of Television.”

Several TV celebs like Ishita Gangopadhyay, Shakti Arora, Jigyasa Singh and others replied to his statement.
Aditi Dev Sharma, who plays the lead role in Katha Ankahee, shared the director’s post. The show premiered last year in December and stars Aditi and Adnan Khan in the lead roles.
