It is a double celebration this year for actor
Paritosh Tripathi because he is not only celebrating
Dussehra with his family in Delhi after 20 odd years but it's also his mother’s 65th birthday. “It's been 11 years in Mumbai and I never get a chance to celebrate festivals with my family because of work, but this year is special. The feeling of being at home and celebrating with your dear ones is something else.
We are having an intimate get-together in the evening and I am looking forward to meeting people,” shares Paritosh.
The actor, who has spent many years in Delhi, is a big fan of Ramleela. “Even when I was in my hometown in
Bihar I used to go watch Ramleela. I have played so many characters in Ramleela too, starting from being a rakshas to being a part of the Vanar Sena. In Delhi, the level of Ramleela is different. Right from small stages to the grand one, Ramleela in the capital is worth watching," he says.
Recounting the time as a kid when he was part of performance, he says, "I was in school when I portrayed the character of Ram in a Jhanki which moved around in the entire town. My school friends saw me and they cheered for me a lot. What an amazing time I had!"
Talking about the celebrations in his home then and now, he says, “Whoever would wake up first in the morning on Dussehra had to go to a local sweet shop to buy jalebi and rabri. That is how we used to start the festival. There was a mela where Ravan dahan used to take place, so we all would go there. I remember sitting on my father’s shoulders to see Ravan burning. Now things have changed but the fervour with which we celebrate remains the same. I bought a lot of balloons yesterday for the kids in the house. I am so glad I am doing this, this year makes me feel nostalgic,” Paritosh signs off.
